Job Title: Shelter Monitor Salary: $10.50 – $12.50

Description: Iron County Care and Share is a local, private non-profit dedicated to providing compassionate assistance and resources to individuals and families in need, offering them opportunities to increase their stability and self-sufficiency. Our target populations are homeless men, women and children; residents of Iron county; and the chronically homeless in Beaver, Washington, and Garfield, counties. This population includes the elderly, minorities, the disabled, veterans, developmentally disabled, physically and mentally ill, those with dual diagnoses, and homeless people living in places unfit for human habitation. Iron County Care and Share provides a pathway to stability for individuals in crisis who have few affordable and supportive options available.

We are currently seeking qualified and passionate candidates to join our team in the role of Shelter Monitor.

The Shelter Monitor is responsible for maintaining the security of the building and clients, answering the phone, admitting clients and completing the intake process during the evening and/or waking clients in the morning (depending on scheduled hours), making and serving breakfast or dinner and sack lunches, ensuring clients leave the building by 8:00 am, and completing daily scheduled chores.

The shelter is open 24 hours per day and 7 days per week. Shifts include Monday – Friday 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.; Monday – Friday 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.; Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.

We currently have a need to fill multiple shifts including the addition of a floater to cover holidays, vacations and emergencies The Shelter Monitor must be able to maintain a professional relationship with all clients – socializing and transporting clients is strictly prohibited.
