COVID – 19 News for Pantry Clients

Iron County Care and Share is staying informed about COVID-19 (also known as the Coronavirus) and how it is impacting our programs, services, and community. The organization has no knowledge of exposure, nor program participants that are ill or presenting symptoms and ask for your help in squashing stigma. 

Please read the following carefully, as it contains information on changes to our PANTRY programs and services.

  • WE ARE CHANGING OUR FOOD DISTRIBUTION PROCESS – please read carefully 
    • ICCS will only distribute pre-packed boxes.
    • Your box will be built according to the number of family members listed on your account.
    • We reserve the right to edit the amount of food in boxes based on availability of items and ensuring all of our clients receive food.
    • Our partners at Utah Food bank have assured us that deliveries are on track and it is business as usual. “We will continue to serve our partner agencies in the same manner as we have been, unless we are advised by government officials to do otherwise.”
    • Please stay up to date with us via social media and our website.
  • Weekly pantry bags will be limited and require an appointment.
  • Our hours of operation will be Monday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • All clients must have an appointment (New clients call 435-586-4962)
  • PLEASE STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK – find and assign a friend to pick-up your food
  • Please wash your hands before you arrive and use hand sanitizer if possible

The SWUPHD encourages residents to practice measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases in the community:

    • Wash your hands often and thoroughly with soap and running water or use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
    • Stay home if you are sick.
    • Cover your face using a tissue or arm when coughing or sneezing.
    • Wearing a mask (including N95 masks) is not useful unless you are sick (to protect others) or in close contact with someone who is sick, such as a patient or family member.
    • Stay informed by visiting coronavirus.utah.gov .
    • If you’re worried about whether you may have COVID-19, please call the Utah Coronavirus Information Line at 1-800-456-7707 .
    • Review or create preparedness plans for yourself, family, business, or organization in case of temporary restrictions or closures of schools, churches, events, or other gatherings.
