General information

Volunteers are critical to the operations of Iron County Care and Share.  
You can become a volunteer in these easy steps:

  1. Review Frequently Asked Questions

  2. Complete the Volunteer Application for singular volunteers (or follow the directions for a group)

  3. Check your email for confirmation of your application

  4. An ICCS representative will reach out by phone or email to schedule orientation

 

When you volunteer, you’re on the team. For the safety and security of all team members and clients, you will be asked to review and/or sign the following:

Volunteer opportunities:

Food Pantry:
222 W. 900 N. 
Cedar City, UT 84721

Food Pantry: Volunteers are needed in the food pantry/warehouse to sort food items, stock shelves, complete light janitorial work, and other tasks as needed. Some volunteers may be asked to assist with assembling food boxes for clients. Special projects will be arranged with our Executive Director.
Available schedule: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. and occasional Fridays and weekends.

Grocery Rescue Operations: Volunteers are needed to assist in picking up donations from local grocers. Our truck goes out daily to the community for pickups. Current Driver License and insurance required for driving positions. Assistance is also welcome to share the load.
Available schedule: Monday – Friday 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 

Senior Food Box Delivery: We are seeking volunteers to distribute Senior Food Boxes in our community. Valid license, insurance is required, and your own vehicle is helpful.
Available schedule: This opportunity is typically one to two part time days per month. More time is welcome to assist with sign-ups and program organization.

Emergency Shelter:

Shelter: Answer the phone, greet clients, hand out toiletries and towels and assist case managers. Administrative and/or customer service experience welcomed, but not required.
Available schedule: Please check back later. This opportunity is not available at this time.

Shelter Meals: Would like to share your culinary skills and love for people with our clients in shelter? Contact us today about a date and time you can come and prepare a meal for our shelter family. Consider a family style meal with conversation, laughs and love.
Background check and food handler’s permit is required.

A note to those that require proof of hours served

We do not track your hours manually. You must clock-in and out using the Username and Password assigned to you. Upon completion of your hours, you may request a confirmation of your hours served.
